§ Mr. Robert Hughesasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if, pursuant to the 111W reply of the Minister for home affairs and the environment, Scottish Office, to the hon. Member for Aberdeen, North, he will issue a circular of guidance to rent officers drawing their attention to the procedure for a landlord and tenant to enter into a rent agreement, and to ask the rent officers to approve the agreement, as an alternative to the fair rent procedure, and advising rent officers to notify landlords and tenants of this alternative.
§ Mr. RifkindRent officers are already fully aware of the procedures related to rent agreements and these are fully explained in the literature on the Rent Acts which rent offices, local authorities and citizens advice bureaux provide free to the public.
