§ Mr. Douglas-Mannasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he is satisfied that local authorities have adequate powers to compel landlords of private residential property to carry out repairs within a reasonable time in order to make occupied property fit for habitation; and, if not, whether he will introduce legislation to increase such powers.
