§ Mr. FowlerThe fuel saving attributable to reduced vehicle speeds during the first six months of the last reduction of speed limits was estimated to be not more than 1 per cent. There are other variables, and it is difficult to say whether, if the same limits were introduced now, they would produce a similar saving, but they would probably be less than 1 per cent.
