§ Sir Ian GilmourAs he states in the preface to his report, Mr. J. M. Drink-water, QC, was asked by my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister when Leader of Her Majesty's Opposition to go to Rhodesia to observe the election and to report on the circumstances in which it was held. For security reasons and on grounds of convenience he travelled to and from Rhodesia and inside that country with the group of observers headed by my right hon. and noble Friend Lord Boyd. The conclusions he came to were, however, entirely his own.
