§ Lord KENNETasked Her Majesty's Government:
What independent studies on LNG/LPG has the Government had available in their consideration of the Mossmoran/Braefoot Bay LNG/LPG project and whether these and/or those of the Health and Safety Executive are in the public domain; and
Whether the Secretary of State for Scotland, in relation to the proposed development at Mossmoran/Braefoot Bay, has taken into account material on liquefied gas storage et cetera, published by:
- a. the US General Accounting Office; and
- b. the US Congress Office of Technology Assessment
1099 and if so with what result and if not, on what grounds has he rejected it.
§ The MINISTER of STATE, SCOTTISH OFFICE (The Earl of Mansfield)All the evidence presented to the public inquiry, including the Cremer and Warner report, is generally available, as are the subsequent reports from the Health and Safety Executive on the possible hazards from radio emissions. All representations including the US reports are available for inspection at New St.Andrew's House, Edinburgh. The Secretary of State's decision will take account of all material considerations.
