HC Deb 20 June 1979 vol 968 cc545-6W
Mr. Waller

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what would be the loss of revenue arising from a concessionary half price television licence to be granted to all retirement pensioners, including those at present benefiting from a 5p licence.

Mr. Brittan

The latest available estimate of the cost of providing half price television licences to all households containing one or more retirement pensioners is between £50 million and £55 million a year.
