§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeRegulation 97 of the Motor Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1978 embodies a general requirement for the safe and secure loading of vehicles. It would not be feasible also to include detailed requirements on all the various types of load. How ever, the Department's published code of practice on safety of loads gives advice on the loading of metal coils, and the intention is to review it shortly in the light of recent tests.
