Notes:

1. Before the financial year 1977–78 allocations were in terms of the value of work to be started in the periods to which they related: from 1977–78 they have been in terms of expenditure to be incurred in financial years. Part of the expenditure in 1977–78 and 1978–79 therefore relates to projects started previously.

2. From 1978–79 allocations have been issued in the form of a single figure to cover capital expenditure on all school and further education building; and separate allocations have not been made for nursery education building.

§ Mr. Ernie Ross
asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will list regional authorities which have applied for grants for nursery education projects under the urban aid programme in the last year.

§ Mr. Rifkind
One authority, Strathclyde, four of whose projects have been approved and eight are under consideration.
