§ Mr. Adleyasked the Prime Minister if she is satisfied with the co-ordination concerning elimination of waste in Government Departments; what instructions she has issued to her Ministers to undertake a programme of eliminating waste; and if she will ensure that these programmes are carried through diligently.
§ The Prime MinisterI have asked my Cabinet colleagues to make it their personal responsibility to promote efficiency and eliminate waste in their Departments. They will be reporting to me from time to time on their progress, and I am asking Sir Derek Rayner to assist in co-ordinating the exercise.
