§ Mr. Fordasked the Minister of Transport if he will appoint a senior inspector to take charge of the inquiry into the draft orders for the Washford to Dishforth A1 improvement scheme, in view of the likelihood of a discussion of the whole line of the strategic route.
§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeIn accordance with normal practice, my noble Friend the Lord Chancellor has nominated an inspector whose appointment by my right hon. Friends the Minister of Transport and the Secretary of State for the Environment will be announced shortly. In so doing he took full account of the complexities of this scheme.
