§ Mr. BrittanThe provision of their broadcasting services is primarily the responsibility of the respective broadcasting authorities. The BBC tells me that for a number of people in the Colwyn Bay area UHF television reception may be difficult and that improvement would be dependent on resolving the complex problem of identifying frequency channels which could be used in that area.
With regard to radio the BBC tells me that reception of its network radio services including Radio Cymru on VHF, its Radio 4 (United Kingdom) service on the long wage and Radio Wales on the medium wave should all be satisfactory. The BBC is aware that the quality of reception of Radios 1, 2 and 3 on medium wave is unsatisfactory and is investigating the practicability of improving the medium wave coverage of those services.
