§ Mr. WigginThe expenditure incurred by the EEC in exporting surplus sugar to the world market in 1977 and 1978 was 409–1 million European units of account (mEUA) (£267.4 million) and 640.4 mEUA (£425.2 million) respectively; the Community budget appropriations for 1979 are 751.8 mEUA (£504.6 million). The rates used for converting EUAs into £s are 1977–1.52975, 1978–1.50623 and 1979–1.49.
