Mr. Warren

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will review the benefits which could be obtained by changing the radio wavelengths used by the police from VHF to UHF.

Mr. Raison

The police already make extensive use of UHF. Any changes can be considered only in the light of the results of the World Administrative Radio Conference which starts in September.
