asked the Secretary of State for Wales whether he will outline the effects of the £3?8 million reduction in the Manpower Services Commission's budget for Wales.

Much of the Manpower Services Commission's work is demand related and it is therefore not possible to state what the precise impact will be. I am informed by the commission that its expenditure will be concentrated on areas of greatest need in Wales. Even with the reduction, the commission's planned expenditure in Wales will still be substantially greater this year than last.
