Mr. Parry

asked the Minister of Transport if he will publish in the Official Report the names of individuals and organisations who have written to his Department objecting to the proposed Liverpool inner ring road during the past year.

The following organisations have also written—the Vauxhall Neighbourhood Council, the Toxteth Community Council, the West Everton Community Council, the Friends of the Earth, Liverpool, Transport 2000, the Edge Hill Constituency Labour Party, the Liverpool Scotland Exchange Labour Party, the Liverpool Anti.Ring Road Committee, the Yew Tree Community Association, the Neighbourhood Services Committee, the Northcote Road Action Group, the Merseyside Civic Society, the RIBA (Merseyside Branch), the Communist Party of Great Britain, Merseyside Area Committee, L. Cocker & Co. (Printers), Catherine Housing Co.operative Ltd., Canning Housing Co.operative Ltd., Netherley Flat Dwellers Action Group, the University of Liverpool, Guild of Undergraduates, Whiston Town Council and the Labour Group on the Merseyside County Council. I understand that the Merseyside Group of Labour MPs has also resolved to oppose the construction of the road.
