§ Mr. Cryerasked the Secretary of State for Employment (1) if he will introduce legislation to Parliament to control the lifting of heavy weights; (2) if he will introduce legislation repealing the Agriculture (Lifting of Heavy Weights) Regulations.
§ Mr. MayhewI am informed by the chairman of the Health and Safety Commission that the preparation of all the relevant information concerning legislation and advice on manual lifting and handling has taken longer than expected, but that it is thought likely to be ready in the near future. In the light of that information, the commission will consider 407W whether to propose any legislative changes.
