§ Mrs. Renée Shortasked the Secretary of State for Employment what action he intends to take to ensure that employees at Fafnir Bearings Ltd., Wolverhampton who have been served with redundancy notices are found alternative employment.
§ Mr. Jim Lester,pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 15 June 1979; Vol. 968, c. 338], gave the following information:
Fafnir Bearings Ltd. has notified my Department of 62 redundancies which are due to occur at its Wolverhampton establishment between 29 June and 28 December 1979. The Manpower Services Commission has been alerted to the proposed dismissals, and its full services will be available to those threatened with redundancy.
