asked the Secretary of State for Wales what is his estimate of the total of new jobs created between February 1974 and April 1979 in the constituency of East Flint.

There is no satisfactory basis for an estimate of the total number of new jobs created in the constituency.

Between February 1974 and April 1979 14 offers of financial assistance under section 7 of the 1972 Industry Act were made in respect of projects in the Flint and Shotton employment exchange areas. These offers were associated with the expected creation of about 600 new jobs.
