HC Deb 11 June 1979 vol 968 c20W
Mr. Brocklebank-Fowler

asked the Lord Privy Seal what is the commitment to aid funds to the United Nations High Commission for Refugees in respect of relief work in South East Asia in the current year; and if he is satisfied that this can be properly disbursed to Kampuchean refugees in Thailand.

Mr. Neil Marten

With the exception of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugee's assistance to the Burma-Bangladesh refugees, to which the United Kingdom is contributing £650,000, the High Commissioner's help to refugees in South East Asia is a component of his general programme, to which the United Kingdom has pledged £3.5 million for this year.

It is for the high commissioner to decide how to allocate his general programme funds.
