§ Mr. Patrick JenkinExpenditure on research and development falling on the Votes for my Department is met from within two cash-limited blocks, that for health and personal social services, England—class XI vote 1—and that for 101W administration and miscellaneous services—class XII vote 4. As such it is subject to the cash limits constraints already announced by my right hon. and learned Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer on 22 May but I do not foresee people employed on research and development becoming unemployed as a result.—[Vol. 967, c. 891–907.]
