HC Deb 11 June 1979 vol 968 cc74-5W
Mr. Skeet

asked the Secretary of State for Industry whether he proposes to follow the French and West German example and initiate a substantial stockpile of cobalt, chrome, manganese, platinum and vanadium to ease industry through temporary supply difficulties.

Mr. David Mitchell

Responsibility for ensuring sufficient supplies and stocks of raw materials lies primarily with industry. The Government keep the position, including the possible need to stockpile, under constant review.
