Mr. Meacher

asked the Prime Minister if she will name the current members of the Advisory Committee on the Acceptance of Business Appointments by Crown Servants, indicating their occupation and background, which other public and private sector board posts they hold, and what remuneration they receive.

No comprehensive record is kept centrally of the public and private sector board posts held by members of the Advisory Committee on the Acceptance of Business Appointments by Crown Servants, but the following background information about them may be helpful:

The Right Honourable Lord Diamond (Chairman)—Chairman of the Royal Commission on the Distribution of Incomes and Wealth; Formerly Chief Secretary to the Treasury.

The Right Honourable Lord Trend, G.C.B., C.V.O.—Rector of Lincoln College, Oxford. Chairman of Trustees of the British Museum; Member of the Advisory Council on Public Records; Formerly Secretary of the Cabinet (1963–73).

The Right Honourable Lord Campbell of Croy, M.C.—Formerly Secretary of State for Scotland.
