§ Dr. VaughanThe Department already takes a number of measures aimed at obtaining value for money spent on prescribed medicines, including those mentioned in my reply to the hon. Member on 5 July. Together with the medical and pharmaceutical professions I shall continue to study ways of securing economies, but I am not at present convinced that the line of action proposed in the question would be practicable or effective in achieving the suggested result.
