HC Deb 27 July 1979 vol 971 c616W
Mr. Dykes

asked the Secretary of State for Industry if he will suggest at the next Council of Ministers meeting that all recipients of Community grants and loans should be required to display the fact that a given project is Community assisted on the site or location of the project.

Mr. David Mitchell,

pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 25 July 1979],gave the following answer:

Notice boards are customarily erected on most of the large infrastructure projects aided by the European regional development fund to publicise this fact. The Community also provides other financial assistance to a wide range of industry, agriculture and public authorities, and many recipients publicise that they have received such financial help, but I do not consider it appropriate to compel all recipients to do so. The Community institutions themselves also generally publicise the aid which they have provided, which in the case of ERDF and social fund assistance will be paid from moneys contributed by member states.
