HC Deb 27 July 1979 vol 971 cc510-1W
Mr. Douglas-Mann

asked the Attorney-General whether he will take steps to amend the County Courts Act 1959 on lines similar to section 44 of the Administration of Justice Act 1970 to enable interest to accrue on unsatisfied judgment, if only in matrimonial proceedings; and, if not, why not.

The Attorney-General

There are no plans to do so at present. Interest on county court judgment of all kinds would involve additional costs in calculation and collection not at present contemplated.
