§ Viscount Cranborneasked the Secretary of State for Energy what is the Government's reaction to the report of the combined heat and power group.
§ Mr. John MooreThe report of the CHP group is being published by her Majesty's Stationery Office today, together with a companion report on heat loads in British cities. I have arranged for copies of both these reports to be placed in the Library of the House. Other supporting documents are being made available to the public by the Department of Energy library.
I am grateful to Dr. Marshall, the chairman of the group, and all who worked with him for the painstaking 357W efforts they put into their studies. They are an important contribution to the wider understanding of the topic. The report identifies several major issues which go beyond energy considerations. The Government will study these issues carefully and will announce their decision in due course.
