HC Deb 26 July 1979 vol 971 cc444-5W
Mr. Rooker

asked the Secretary of State for Employment when he expects to introduce a new system for the notification of accidents and dangerous occurrences.

Mr. Mayhew

I refer to my reply to my hon. Friend the Member for Surrey, North-West (Mr. Grylls) on 4 July.

The chairman of the Health and Safety Commission informs me that the consultation period for the latest consultative document containing draft regulations for the notification of accidents, dangerous occurrences and ill health ended in June 1979, and that the comments which were received are now being considered.

The Commission hopes shortly to advise me as to when the draft regulations may be laid.
