§ Sir George YoungI refer the hon. Member to my reply to him on 2 July. The guidelines in the White Paper attempted to reflect the general pattern of service needs in a community-oriented psychiatric service. As the White Paper makes clear, patients will often attend a day hospital or day centre without any in-patient stay; and patients awaiting discharge will not necessarily need subsequent day care.
