HC Deb 25 July 1979 vol 971 c238W
Mr. Skeet

asked the Secretary of State for Energy whether it is his policy that further liquefied natural gas should be imported from abroad.

Mr. Gray

I have no power to control imports of liquefied natural gas. I discuss with the British Gas Corporation in the context of its corporate plan the prospects for gas supplies to the country, including liquefied natural gas imports, but there are no current plans to raise the level of LNG imports above that of recent years.
