§ Mr. Thorntonasked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will publish figures for the working population in England and Wales employed in the industries of coal mining, steel, railways and shipbuilding for (a) the United Kingdom, (b) the metropolitan areas, including the Greater London Council, and (c) Merseyside for each of the past 20 years, together with an international comparison of figures for the working population in the same industries in each of France, West Germany, Italy and the Netherlands.
