Mr. Dykes

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many civil servants from his Department have attended meetings held under the auspices of the Environment Council of Ministers since 1 January 1973 in each six-month presidency; and how many meetings were so attended.

Officials of my Department attend meetings of the EEC Environment Council of Ministers and other meetings held under the auspices of the Council in accordance with the requirements of the particular meeting. Detailed figures for the period requested could not be provided except at disproportionate cost.
