§ 65. Mr. S. C. Silkinasked the Attorney-General whether he is satisfied with the establishment and staffing of the Department of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The Attorney-GeneralNo. The Director's staff is still under strength and has difficulty in maintaining the necessary standards of service and efficiency both in respect of his advisory and prosecution functions in the face of a continuing growth in the number of cases of both types submitted to him. However, the Director's department has been exempted from the temporary ban on recruitment and he is seeking to recruit more staff.
