Mr. Knox

asked the Secretary of State for Industry if he will publish in the Official Report a table showing for each member State of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development the percentage change in (a) a total industrial output (b) manufacturing output, from 1973 to 1978.

Industrial output data are not available for the period specified for Denmark, Ireland, Iceland, Portugal, Spain, Turkey and New Zealand; the information for the remaining countries is shown in the table below:

Such information as is available covers the years 1973 to 1977 for the whole economy.

Estimates of manufacturing output per employee are not available for Greece, Iceland, Portugal, Switzerland, Turkey and New Zealand.
