§ Mr. Georgeasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if a Minister from his Department would be prepared to meet a delegation from Walsall to discuss 807W the impact on Walsall of cuts in public expenditure and to seek ways in which central Government may assist the town in its regeneration.
§ Mr. KingThe cuts in public expenditure apply to all local authorities, and it is for each authority to decide its own priorities in making the necessary reductions. I regret that, in these circumstances, it will not be possible for me to receive a delegation as the hon. Member requests.
