§ Mr. George Robertsonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what consultations he intends to have regarding his intentions to legislate on the right of council house tenants to purchase their council houses.
§ Mr. RifkindThe broad principles of our legislative proposals are clear and consultation is not necessary. However, there are a number of points of detail concerning the proposals on which the views of housing authorities and others would be helpful and I intend to seek such views where appropriate. As part of this process I shall be meeting representatives of the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities in the near future.
