§ Mr. Pawseyasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if, in view of the number of unfilled vacancies for skilled workers, he will consider the re-introduction of technical schools giving a two or three year course for boys and girls aged 14 years.
§ Dr. BoysonIt will now be for local education authorities to decide what is the most appropriate pattern of secondary education in their areas. If they wish to introduce technical schools, they will need to submit proposals to this effect under section 13 of the Education Act 1944 to my right hon. and learned Friend.
