§ Dr. BoysonUnder the arrangement referred to in paragraph 8 of the Department's administrative memorandum 9/78, when a teacher takes up his first appointment in a maintained school, his probationary period may, on the recommendation of the local education authority, be shortened or waived by reason of satisfactory service in an independent school.
