§ Mr. Buchanan-SmithAs indicated in my right hon. Friend's statement to the House on 22 June, the devaluation of the green pound which he secured will substantially reduce monetary compensatory amounts on pigmeat and pigmeat products and will assist our producers and processors in competing with imports. We shall continue to do everything possible to enable our industry to compete on an equal basis with its competitors.
