§ Mr. Michael RobertsCurrent and capital expenditure by local education authorities on primary and secondary education in Wales amounted to £242 million net in 1977–78, excluding elements not apportioned between the education sectors. It is for authorities to decide how many teachers to employ, what building work to undertake and what level of nursery provision to make, consistent with the Government's requirement for authorities to contain their expenditure.
