§ Mr. McQuarrieasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if, in the light of the differences in treatment of various categories of widows with respect to taxation of pensions, he will move to appoint a Select Committee to examine the structure and taxation of widows' pensions.
§ Mr. Peter Rees, pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 2nd July 1979], gave the following answer:
I do not think this would be appropriate.
