§ Mr. Cryerasked the Secretary of State for Trade if he will institute an investigation under the Companies Acts into the conduct of Staflex International Ltd.
§ Mr. EyreStaflex International Limited went into creditors' voluntary liquidation on 29 December 1978. There are joint liquidators. Insolvency is not regarded as a ground for an investigation but section 334(2) of the Companies Act 1948 requires the voluntary liquidators to report to the Director of Public Prosecutions forthwith, if it appears in the course of the voluntary winding up that any past or present officer, or any member, of the company, has been guilty of any offence in relation to the company 673W for which he is criminally liable. I understand that no such report has been submitted to the DPP. My Department will keep in touch with the joint liquidators on this aspect of their administration.
