Mr. Foster

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether he will make arrangements to collect and publish information on the destination of pupils leaving special schools.

Pupils aged 16 years over school leaving age as a percentage of those aged 14 years two years previously per cent. Pupils aged 17 years as a percentage of those aged 14 years three years previously per cent.

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science (1) if he will publish for each education authority in the Northern region the percentage of pupils entering full-time further education on leaving school at 16 years;

(2) if he will publish for each region in England the percentage of pupils entering full-time further education on leaving school at 16 years.

I regret that this information is not readily available in the detail requested.

However, the total number of school leavers in 1976–77 entering full-time further

decisions on the recommendations of the Warnock committee.
