asked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster whether he will announce the date of the publication of the Government's plans for the new national heritage fund.

As I told the hon. Member on 14 June, my right hon. Friends and I are studying this matter.

asked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster whether he will consult the National Art Collections Fund, the Standing Commission on Museums and Galleries and Heritage in Danger before announcing his policy with regard to the formation of the new national heritage fund.

In formulating our plans for a national heritage fund my right hon. Friends and I will ensure that we are aware of the views of those bodies which we consider will be directly affected by those plans. We are willing to receive representations from all bodies which may have interests in this area.
