§ 41. Mr. Ralph Howellasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he is satisfied with the operation of the school meal service and that all concerned are getting value for money.
§ Dr. BoysonIn general, the service works well and each day about 5 million pupils in schools in England take a school meal, representing nearly two-thirds of all the pupils in attendance. In such a large-scale enterprise there is bound to be room for improvement in some areas but it would appear that the majority of parents consider that their children are getting value for money.
