HC Deb 02 July 1979 vol 969 cc401-2W
Mr. Frank R. White

asked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will list the employed population and the annual wakes weeks holidays for each of the towns within the metropolitan districts of the Greater Manchester county.

Mr. Jim Lester

The following table shows the total numbers of employees in employment at June 1976 in the various employment office areas which most closely correspond to the metropolitan county of Greater Manchester.

A list of dates of wakes weeks holidays is compiled by the Manchester chamber of commerce. As it is rather extensive I am sending a copy to the hon. Member and to the Library.
