§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer (1) whether he will cause an investigation to be made to establish to what extent national production would rise and there would be a saving in public and private costs of administration of PAYE and the collection, etc., of revenue if taxation on earnings were abolished;
(2) whether he will consider abolishing all tax on earned income.
