§ Sir Nicholas Bonsorasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is the administrative cost of the on-course betting tax; and how much net revenue is raised therefrom.
§ Mr. Peter ReesI regret that it is not practicable to isolate the cost of administering the general betting duty chargeable on bets made on course from the cost of administering the betting and gaming duties as a whole. The estimated revenue in 1978–79 from the general betting duty chargeable on on-course bets was £13.4 million.
