HC Deb 02 July 1979 vol 969 cc489-90W
Mr McQuarrie

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if, having regard to the need to reduce the overhead cost of the medical services and allow greater public participation, he has any plans to abolish the Scottish health boards and place the responsibility upon local health boards.

Mr. Fairgrieve

No decision as to whether there should be any change in the existing administrative situation of the National Health Service will be taken until the report by the Royal Commission has been received and considered.
