HC Deb 02 July 1979 vol 969 cc442-3W
Mr. Warren

asked the Secretary of State for Defence when he expects to be able to make a statement on the outcome of his review of the proposal to centralise records offices of his Department in Glasgow; and what will be the approximate cost of this move.

Mr. Speed

A statement will be made when the implications of the overall review of the Government's dispersal programme are known. The arrangements for implementing the move of 740 Army pay, manning and record office posts to Glasgow had not been worked out in detail before the review was initiated and valid cost estimates are not therefore available.
