HC Deb 02 July 1979 vol 969 cc385-6W
Mr. Skeet

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many entries have been made in registers of allegations of corruption in public life both centrally and regionally set up pursuant to Cmnd. 6524 in Home Office circular 92/197B; and how many regions have established registers pursuant to Cmnd. 6524 in Home Office circular 92/197B.

Mr. Brittan

There have been 200 allegations of corruption in public life reported to the central public sector corruption index since it was established in 1978. Records of allegations of corcuption are not kept on a regional basis, but individual chief officers maintain records which are examined by Her Majesty's Inspectors of Constabulary during their annual inspections.
